Rifle's City Manager out after just three months

RIFLE, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) -- Rifle's City Manager Jim Nichols is out after just three months.

The city said in a statement Thursday that Rifle City Council and Nichols "mutually agreed to his separation from the city."

A city spokesperson would not elaborate on what led to the decision. The terms of the separation agreement are being finalized, per the statement.

Nichols took the job in December after serving as County Manager of Douglas County, Nevada.

Rifle Police Chief Tommy Klein has assumed the role of acting city manager, the statement.said.
