GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- It's supposed to be the most wonderful time of year, but a new report out by GasBuddy.com said people drive close to 200 percent more aggressively during the holidays.
The most aggressive state was Georgia, followed by California. Colorado was ranked 31.
People were most aggressive when driving to holiday destinations. So, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving was particularly dangerous.
“It’s not worth it,” said Heidi Davidson, Grand Junction Police Department. “Either allow yourself more time or make peace with getting late because getting there safely and allowing people to get where they're going safely is far more important than being on time.”
GasBuddy.com said driving aggressively can lower gas mileage by about 40 percent.
