GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The Colorado Department of Education on Thursday released new numbers about graduation rates across the state.
The results show that Mesa County Valley School District 51 leads the state in Graduation rates. District 51 has a nearly 80-percent graduation rate.
The report showed D-51 also had higher graduation rates than the state average for girls, Latino students and other minority populations.
Matthew Diers, the executive director of high school and academic options, said rate for students with disabilities also increased.
Migrant students in D-51--those who are born in the U.S--had a graduation rate of just a little more than 83 percent, which is higher than the state average for that group, according to the report.
