A statement provided to the Garfield County Coroner’s Office identifies the family of four who was killed in a plane crash on Saturday.
Jeff Makepeace, 47, and Jennifer Makepeace, 45, and their children Addison and Benjamin, both 10, were killed when the plane crashed north of Glenwood Springs, according to the statement. The Fort Collins family was flying from the Front Range to Moab, Utah.
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said the plane lost contact with the radar late Friday night. It was until late Saturday morning that Civil Air Patrol found the wreckage.
The National Traffic Safety Board confirms the plane was a single-engine Cirrus SR-22.
