Powderhorn testing out tiny homes

MESA, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) -- Powderhorn is getting ready for opening day, and when they do open, you're going to be seeing something a bit different at the base -- tiny homes.

"Tiny homes are a great fit for Powderhorn," Ryan Robinson, marketing and sales manager for Powderhorn, said.

Throughout the winter you will see three of these houses at Powderhorn's base. They're hoping you will take a tour of the homes and give them feedback on which ones you like best.

"We have three models that will be on display at the resort throughout the winter," Robinson said. "We are going to gather customer feedback, what they like about each individual model and that will help us shape the overall development plan."

Next summer, Powderhorn hopes to take that feedback and make a tiny home village of sorts.

"Construction will begin next summer and they will be placed on the private land around the base area of the ski resort," Robinson said.
