GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A new coffee shop called Pressed will open up in Palisade next week, but their coffee may be a little different than what people are used to.
Owners of Pressed claim the CBD in their beverages prevents the "caffeine crash" that comes after drinking a cup of coffee.
The shop will also offer the option to put CBD in cocktails, and wine.
The owners told me they think they can compete with other coffee shops mainly because of their products, and because they are using locally grown hemp, raised by one of the owners, to get their CBD.
Despite controversy over CBD products, the shop says there's nothing to be afraid of.
"I take it as just a regular supplement. It does not have THC in it, so you are not going to get high from this. You are only going to get the benefits of the hemp plants. And that's the beauty of it," said Co-Owner, Christina Terrell.
Pressed will open up for business on February 1, and they also want to open up their property for weddings in the future.
