GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- With the tap of three buttons, people going through a crisis can call a number that can lead them to the resources they need.
Western Colorado 211 helps people in need find programs that will help with things like rent, food and health care .
The non-profit organization covers 16 counties, answering thousands of calls to help people get back on their feet.
"So we get a lot of caller feedback that are just so appreciative that there was someone that was willing to listen to their story. A lot of times when someone is in crisis, I think it could be really challenging to have to tell your story a bunch of times,” says Western Colorado 211 Christie Higgins
In 2018, Western Colorado 211 received around 4,000 calls, most of which were from people in Mesa County.
