It was a dog pawty in Montrose as the Sheriff's Office celebrated the eighth birthday of their K9 dog, Oxx.
“Our crime-fighting dog is now eight and going out there and keeping us safe every day,” said Krista Bush, owner Chow Down Pet Supplies.
Oxx got the full treatment at Chow Down Pet Supplies with some tasty ice cream and even a pawty hat.
"We like to celebrate our dogs when they have their birthdays, so why not Oxx?" Bush said.
Oxx serves the entire 7th judicial district as a certified drug detection K9. He also does tracking, area searches, building searches and is even certified in criminal apprehension.
“In today’s society we want the dogs to be social but when we tell them to turn it on, they turn it on and they perform their job,” Sgt. Keith Sanders, Montrose County Sheriff's Office.
Additionally, the Montrose County Sheriff's Office will be selling Oxx dolls for $10 instead of $15 until Valentine's Day.
You can find those plush pups at Chow Down Pet Supplies in Montrose or at the Montrose County Sheriff's Office.
