PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A mudslide shut down westbound Interstate 70 Monday afternoon near Palisade.
It happened just before 2 p.m., near the Palisade exit on I-70. One lane was open for a short time to let cars pass the debris area, but as of 4 p.m., a detour is in place.
According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, drivers headed west should take exit 42 to Highway 6, until the road is back open.
The Palisade Fire Department said there is a Ute Water pipe in that area, but it's intact, and the slide was caused by Monday's rain.
