GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- If you need help paying for childcare, the Mesa County Child Care Assistance Program says they can help.
In the last few years, the program has had a wait list due to limited funding, but now, they are accepting all applications for parents that meet their requirements.
The program is meant to help parents who are low income, in school, or simply need help paying for child care.
It helps pay for childcare for about one-thousand kids in Mesa County.
"Childcare is probably the second most expensive bill in a family's household, second to their mortgage. It is really expensive, so any assistance we can give these families to help them stay in the workforce or go to school is wonderful for our community," said Child Care Assistance Supervisor, Melissa Schierland.
