Man raises money for fallen troopers by running

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- A Grand Junction man is raising money to give to the families of fallen troopers, and he’s doing it by running.

Ryan Kleist says he started his health journey after feeling overweight, and decided to run. But, he wanted to run for a good cause.

He’s hoping to raise $10,000 dollars which will all be donated to the Colorado State Patrol Family Foundation.

"They put on a badge, and put on a bulletproof vest every day, and they're just trying to make a difference in the world. And you know, they have a very dangerous profession, so when one of them goes down, or someone passes away, it’s really hard. So knowing that there’s foundations that make a difference, " says Grand Junction Resident Ryan Kleist.

The money will go towards helping troopers and their family with college scholarships and supporting families of those killed in the line of duty.
