Man gives $100 to stranger walking their dog

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo, (KJCT) -- What can you do with 100 dollars cash?

That’s the question that encouraged dog trainer Lance Ferguson to start giving out 100 dollars to people walking their dogs today.

He chose 100 dollars because while that might be a night out for some of us, that’s what it’s worth to a dog to be able to your dog to get out of the house. He says most behavioral issues are a result of improper socialization.

"You know, I thought about what I would do if I won the Powerball, and one of the things is whenever I saw people walking dogs I just give them a hundred dollars. I haven't won the Powerball at all, but I do budget it and I'm able to do four winners throughout the month of October," says Lance Ferguson.

In order to win, all you had to do was to bring Fido to Canyon View park today between 11am and noon and enter their second annual Walktober drawing.

Lance told us that among the winners were a white German shepherd, an Australian shepherd, and a Chihuahua.
