GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A man ended up in the hospital after taking a bad fall while trimming trees.
Mike Heinz of Loma was hospitalized Sunday after falling 30 feet onto the cement near Seventh Street and North Avenue when the tree trimming truck he was working in had an equipment failure.
The arm of the lift extension sheared off at the base while Heinz was standing in the bucket.
According to the battalion chief with the Grand Junction Fire Department, Heinz was seriously hurt with injuries to his back, ribs, and face.
Friends of the Heinz family have set up a GoFundMe page to help the family until Mike is back on his feet.
