COLLBRAN, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- UPDATE: The coroner has identified Janice Brown, 58, as the woman killed in Collbran Saturday night.

The Mesa County Coroner said Monday her cause of death was shotgun wound to the head and neck, and the manner of death was homicide.

Original story: A man is in jail on murder charges after a shooting in Collbran Saturday night.

It happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday. Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were called to an alleged shooting at 513 Glenarm Avenue #5. When they got there, they found a dead adult woman inside the home. That’s all according to a press release from the Mesa County Sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office says they got information on a suspect and began looking for Adan Trevor Boggie, 36, of Collbran. Then, at about 9 p.m., Boggie was arrested on Interstate 70 at mile marker 87 by Garfield County authorities.

Boggie was taken to the Mesa County Jail on charges of murder in the second degree. No bond has been set for him, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office says the Mesa County Coroner will identify the victim and find out the cause and manner of death.
