GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A man has been charged with attempted murder after he tried to stab his father with a butcher knife Wednesday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Grand Junction Police Department, it happened at an apartment in the 800 block of Grand Avenue. GJPD responded after the victim called 911 and said that his son came to his home and demanded money, then tried to stab him, took his wallet and left.
The suspect, James Bardell, 29, was taken to the Mesa County Jail on unrelated charges Wednesday evening by Colorado State Patrol.
He’s now also being charged with attempted murder, aggravated robbery, assault and felony menacing according to the press release.
