Man arrested after stabbing in Parachute, police say

A man was arrested after a stabbing incident in Parachute. It happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of North Russey Avenue.

James Shannon, 42, was arrested in the case after he ran from the scene. He was booked into the Garfield County Jail on assault charges. During the search, residents in the area were asked to stay inside and lock their doors.

Shannon was found around 12:30 the following morning, police said.

The victim, who police did not identify, was taken to the hospital where his injuries are unknown.

There were no details about what led up to the stabbing.
