GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a woman they say wouldn’t stop when deputies attempted to pull her over and later hit a Colorado State Patrol car during a chase in Grand Junction early Friday morning.

Elizabeth Tafoya is wanted for eluding law enforcement, attempted vehicular assault and aggravated driving, among other counts. The sheriff’s office also says she has warrants from unrelated cases.
Deputies saw Tafoya run a stop sign, drive on the wrong side of the road and apparently try to hit patrol vehicles two different times while eluding law enforcement, according to the sheriff’s office.
At one point while looking for Tafoya’s car, a green Toyota sedan, CSP pursued her into the 2900 block of Texas Avenue where she crashed through a chain-link fence, drove through a dirt lot and collided with a trooper’s car.
She was last seen in a green 1993 Toyota sedan in the area of 28 Road and the Interstate 70 Business Loop.
The sheriff’s office asks anyone with information about Tafoya or where she is to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 970-241-7867.
