Local businesses and non-profits partner up for Spirit of Christmas walk

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT News)-- On Friday night the downtown area was filled with holiday cheer for the Spirit of Christmas Walk.

Businesses stayed open until 8 p.m. for the festivities.
The annual event brings folks out to enjoy shopping, live entertainment, free carriage rides and a chance to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus. This year a number of local non-profits partnered up with some Main Street businesses as a way to raise donations and bring in shoppers.

"We have invited non-profits to come participate. So we've got different non-profits on every block and all of them are hosting an activity," says Mackenzie Dodge with the Grant a Wish Program.

The Grant a Wish Program served up Gourmet S'mores with all funds going to the Grant a Wish program to give local scholarships to youth in our area.
