GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- Crews at Lincoln Park are prepping for their new Shade Structure.
Officials talked about the harmful effects of UV Rays from the sun, and as a protective measure decided they needed more areas with shade.
The project costs around $14,000 and was given to the park by a grant from the American Academy of Dermatology and with the help of St. Mary’s.
With hundreds of people coming to enjoy the pool each year, officials want to help keep you safe.
“We have an obligation to the community as well, to help protect them and educate them about sun safety,” says Grand Junction Parks and Recreation Pete Ashman.
The new shade structure will be finished by the end of 2019 and ready to use in the coming Summer.
