Lawsuit filed against local haunted house

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A Grand Junction man is filing a lawsuit against the owner of the Nightmare on Old 6 and 50 haunted house.

Ron Rubalcaba of Grand Junction says his grandson signed up to work at the Nightmare on Old 6 and 50 in mid-October, and he was told we would be paid for his time, and also given a $500 bonus for the amount of days he spent at the haunted house.

However, his grandson has not seen a penny of what he was promised.

Ron filed the lawsuit here in Mesa County, and wants just $275, but he hopes this lawsuit will help out the other workers at the haunted house.

"I feel sorry for the other kids right here that are owed money. And they aren't getting it. They're just getting the runaround and stuff. So I'm trying to do this for them too. Hopefully they will pay them too," Rubalcaba said.

Billy Lampshire, the owner of Nightmare on Old 6 and 50, declined to be interviewed, but he said in statement, he thinks over 90% of his workers have been paid.
