GRAND JUNCTION,CO. (KJCT)-- The Middle Mamm fire continues to burn, it is about 10 miles east of Rifle.

According to Inci-Web, it has burned about 1,235 acres and containment is around thirty-four percent, that’s as of 9am Monday morning.

Officials say it is not threatening to any structures.

According to the Upper Colorado River Fire and Aviation Management Unit the fire is burning to improve forest health and wildlife habitat, and reduce the chance of a future large, destructive wildfire.

The Cow Creek fire is about nine miles east of ridgeway. The Forest Service says it has now grown to 785 acres.

Smoke is highly visible in the area; the blaze is at zero percent containment at last check.

There have been no evacuation orders so far.

The cause is under investigation.
