GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT News)-- Kindness is Contagious week continues as students organized a free movie night at CMU on Wednesday.

This year's theme is focused around unity, so they showed Pixar's Inside Out as a way to convey the message.

Students organize this week in hopes of fostering kindness among peers and the community.
They're also hoping that this can stop some of stigma around mental health.

"We definitely want to promote a place where everyone feels comfortable. We want it to last more than just this week," says student, Kelsee Dixon.

Also happening on Wednesday night, some students with KIC were seen writing kindness messages on MCSO patrol cars. This was of course with permission of Mesa County Sheriff Matt Lewis.

"It makes me feel really good that they agree with us that kindness should be everywhere and we want people to be happy and nice to each other," says student, Caden Brammer.

Friday evening there is a free skating event at the Glacier Ice Arena for D51 students and families. On Saturday students will be spreading more kindness at the GJ Lion's Club Parade in downtown Grand Junction starting at 1 p.m.
