On Saturday morning before 10:00 a.m. the Grand Junction Police Department (GJPD) responded to reports of stolen vehicles, including a U-Haul truck and stolen property near 29 Road and Patterson.

GJPD says that Casey Arden, 28, was arrested in the incident.

According to the Mesa Couty Jail, Arden is facing a lengthy list of charges, which include burglary, motor vehicle theft, criminal trespass, vehicular alluding, driving under restraint, and failure to appear.

Before this incident, Arden allegedly eluded an officer as he attempted to pull them over as the plates on his vehicle showed up as stolen.

The same officer who tried to initiate a traffic stop noticed the same vehicle days later at a residence near Paterson, in which Arden was then arrested.

When the officer asked why Arden eluded him days prior, he responded, "I don't know, because I was in a stolen truck."
