GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) -- We're creeping up on a storm that's expected to last through the end of this week, that means potentially dangerous road conditions.
Wind was a serious factor for us here in the Grand Valley Wednesday, that will turn into rain and snow later this week, making roads slick.
"Keep your speed down, watch for rocks in the Canyon, but mainly keep your speed down," Anthony Russo, a Grand Junction driver said. "If it's really too bad, stay at home."
Powderhorn Ski Resort was forced to close because of high winds Wednesday afternoon, they are expected to see significant snow this week.
I-70 eastbound towards Vail Pass was already seeing dangerous conditions Wednesday night, those slick roads go all the way to Glenwood Canyon.
Southbound Hwy 50 was also a concern Wednesday night, parts of it past Montrose were under vehicle traction laws.
