Free tax help available on the Western Slope

Tax season is upon us, and if it's your first time or you just need an extra set of eyes, there is help available.

Western Colorado 2-1-1 is offering free tax help.

Starting this weekend, you can stop by Wells Fargo on Main Street or North Avenue. No appointments are needed and everyone is welcome.

All you need to do is bring your social security number, a photo ID, health insurance info, and other related tax forms.

"There are a couple of different tax credits that people might be able to qualify for one of them is the earned income tax credit for working individuals and families, they may be able to increase the size of their refund, there's also the child care tax credit for parents or guardians,” said Andrew Escamilla, certified information and referral specialist.

The details are below.

The downtown Wells Fargo with start on February 4. They will work Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9 a.m.

to 3 p.m.

Wells Fargo on North Avenue will start on February 2. They will work Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
