Free flu shots at V-A hospital

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Our local V-A hospital wants to make sure veterans have access to flu shots this season.

Veterans can now go to the lobby of the Grand Junction V-A Hospital to get a free flu shot between 9 and 12, and then from 1 to 3, Monday through Friday.

The hospital says they just got their immunizations in on September 15th, so they are starting this campaign two weeks earlier than last year.

They will also have two weekends coming up where you can literally drive up, and get your shot right in your car.

"You can just come up in your vehicle and make sure you are wearing loose clothing so you can pull up your sleeve, and you can get the immunization once the nurses check you in and then you are free to go," said Nurse Manager of Primary Care, Ramona O'Neil.

If you can't make it to the V-A, you can also show your veteran card at any Walgreens, and get a shot.
