Jury: former teacher not guilty in child abuse case

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A former special needs teacher has been acquitted of the child abuse charges against him.

Kent Clinkingbeard, 57, was initially charged with child abuse after an alleged incident with a special needs student at Redlands Middle School in January. Four charges stemmed from allegations that he shoved a desk into a student's arm.

The school board voted to dismiss him in June.

A jury found him not guilty on all charges.
