First responder charity picks up GJ trailer

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A firefighter from New York City was in Grand Junction, to pick up a trailer to use for his charity.

His name is Mike Mayor and he helped start a program called Glory Off Road.

It's a non-profit that helps raise awareness for other organizations that help first responders and veterans.

He travels around in his Jeep, and new trailer helping others that are passionate about giving back.

He met with a crew from Grand Junction Fire Department.

"This is a great crew. And its only fitting because they do a lot of off road search and rescue. We support people like that every day. So its fitting to start the trek with the trailer here, and then head back and do our big lap," Mayor said.

Starting June 1st, Mike will take his new trailer on a six-stop tour along the east coast from New York to the Florida Keys.
