End of Redlands roundabout construction calls for celebration

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The end of a road project calls for a celebration.

Local businesses are celebrating with a block party after the completion of the Redlands roundabout.

Some of the business owners say this calls for a toast, because the construction hurt their business since some customers didn't want to drive through the unfinished roundabout.

"We are celebrating the end of the roundabout construction. We're super excited. It's been going on since February and it's finally finished so the local businesses are hosting an open house and a block party," said Tosha Long, A Pawsh Pet Spa.

The block party kicked off Friday and will continue Saturday at the Village Hare Salon from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. That's right down the road from the roundabout at 2249 Broadway, No. 7, in Grand Junction.

The festivities include food, giveaways, and puppicinos, and a few of the businesses are also accepting donations for local charities.
