Education Matters: Career Center preps for revamped Holiday Bazaar

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- Grand Junction's Career Center is getting ready to host their annual Holiday Bazaar. It's been traditionally focused around the floral department's poinsettia and basket sale. That sale will still happen this year, but there will be 40 more vendors from around the Grand Valley selling their locally made goods.

Organizers are hoping to get more than a thousand people through the building this Saturday. They already have a plan for all the profits.

"A hundred percent of it is going to our digital marquee so we can celebrate the Career Center and our students," said Katie Doty, a Career Center Employee.

Staff say the school is often mistaken for different schools, businesses, even the post office. They say a digital sign would help make more of an impression on the community.

The entire school is getting involved. "Our early childhood professions class is going to be doing a gingerbread house making station, " said Doty.

They moved the event to Saturday hoping even more people will come in the daytime. The Holiday Bazaar runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. December 9th.

They're located at 2935 North Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81504.
