GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- On Saturday, it was about as easy to get a flu shot as it is to get a drive-through burger for local veterans.
Well, almost, but it was as simple as driving up, showing their ID, and a nurse would be there to give them their shot right behind the wheel. The clinic at the Grand Junction VA was open to any veteran.
Even though it wasn't open to the public, one nurse says they still had a pretty good turnout.
"I would almost say our veterans probably get it more, as we have quite a turnout. We have already given over 4,000 shots within the clinic, and we've only been running a little over a month. And so, I think we are going to do pretty good this year," said Barb Kent, nurse at the Grand Junction VA hospital.
If you're a veteran who missed the clinic Saturday don't worry, you can still go in Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and in the afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. to get your shot.
