GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The District 51 foundation donated more than $2,000 to the Angel Lunch Fund on Thursday morning.
The Angel Lunch Fund helps pay unpaid school meal accounts for D-51 students, who come from families that are struggling financially. Most of these students, don't qualify for free, or reduced, meal programs, but are still in need of help.
"We track all the account balances and so we'll make sure that the families with the most severe need are the ones that receive the assistance from today's check," said Dan Sharp, D-51 Director of Nutrition Services.
The fund was started last year. If you're interested in donating head on over to the District 51 Foundation's website.
