GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) -- The District 51 Foundation hosted a holiday themed book fair at Barnes and Noble on Tuesday night.

Proceeds from book sales went back to the foundation. That money will help fund technology for students and teacher development.

"We receive a portion of the proceeds from tonight's book fair and that will specifically go to technology for students and professional learning for teachers, so we sure appreciate all the families and people who have come out to support this,” Angela Christensen, executive director of the District 51 Foundation, said.

Santa made an appearance and students from across the district kicked in with free gift wrapping and singing holiday songs.

The District 51 Foundation is gearing up for their biggest fundraiser of the year, the White Iced Celebration. That will happen on February 3rd.
