GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT News)-- All across Colorado, this week has been declared as Community Risk Reduction week.
Community Risk Reduction is a process to help communities find out what their risks are when it comes to fire danger and to then develop a plan to reduce those risks. Here in our neck of the woods Grand Junction Fire says this is a year round process for them.
" All the way through our response plans where we put fire stations, how we respond, down to our educational programs that we design to mitigate wild-land fire risks," says Battalion Chief of GJPD, Doug Walsh.
Part of the risk reduction we do here also comes from building safe and secure structures in the community.
