Over two dozen hospital employees have taken on a different assignment this weekend.

Doctors at Community have exchanged surgical tools for construction tools. They're partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build a house for a local family.

In Colorado, one in seven households spend more than half of their income on housing.

"This is our mission. This is as a community hospital, it’s our mission to improve the health of the community we serve, and having affordable and available housing is critically important to that goal,” Chris Thomas, CEO, Community Hospital said.

The build is on D Road, between 30 Road and 31 Road.
