GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Colorado Mesa University joins the “It’s On Us” campaign to end sexual assault on campus.

It’s a nationwide movement at over 500 college campuses. Members of the group work to bring awareness to sexual assault at universities and they encourage students to take the pledge and commit to helping create a safe campus.

“One of our main goals is to start with bystander intervention. So, that just involves if anyone sees anything on campus or around that involves sexual assault, or could involve sexual assault, we want people to feel empowered to speak up,” Ellis Markey, member of the Sexual Assault Prevention Club.

The CMU chapter currently has more than 500 pledges from students. They hope to reach 2,000 signatures.
