CLIFTON, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Monday was the re-opening of the Clifton DMV office in the Peach Tree Shopping Center.
The DMV opened at 8 a.m. and the staff had a reception and ribbon cutting at 11 a.m.
Clerk and recorder Tina Peters heard from residents that they had to take time off work or get babysitters to go to the DMV when there was just one office. Reopening closed offices was a goal of hers.
"This has been a campaign promise of mine, so I'm really happy to deliver that to the people of Mesa County, been in six months, and we have two offices open, total of three offices now in Mesa County," Tina Peters, Mesa County Clerk and Recorder said.
The Clerk and Recorder says Mesa County is the fourth largest county in Colorado, and having more than one DMV helps people not have to travel as far.
