Holiday light show canceled this year, thefts an issue

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The annual Christmas light show at the MBC Broadcasting building in Sherwood Park is canceled this year.

The company said it is because of theft and vandalism. The Grand Junction Police Department said they see cases every year of the regular Christmas Grinch.

"It's really a shame that something that's meant to be so festive over the holidays is something that can still be a target for thieves,” said Heidi Davidson.

The police department recommends tieing things down, bringing decorations inside overnight and even decorating with bigger, bulkier items because they are harder to steal.
