GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Students from East Middle School are using their talents for a good cause.
The kids will be putting on a "Children for Children" benefit concert Saturday in order to raise money for the "Do Your Part" Oinofyta Refugee Camp in Greece. The student-organizers say it's important to help those in need.
“It just isn’t fair to them because they didn’t do anything wrong. They’re forced to leave their country, especially at such a young age. I feel like we shouldn’t just sit here and let it happen. We should do something about it,” said Morgan Degeorge, 8th grade student.
Their goal is to raise $1,000 through the show's ticket sales and bake sales.
The students will take the stage Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at East Middle School.
