Changes to CMU cybersecurity program

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- Students at Colorado Mesa University are learning to get into the mind of hackers as their cybersecurity program expands.

They are in the works of adding a minor for those who are interested.

The school's cyber center gives them hands-on experience and here locally, students are helping a few businesses monitor their security.

"Everyone's data is potentially vulnerable to getting stolen, or sold, and used in ways that would hurt us pretty bad,” says Senior Computer Science Clayton Johnson.

A recent study shows a cyber attack happens every 39 seconds in the United States.
