Montrose couple allegedly killed by their son

Medano, El Paso, Texas (KJCT)- According to the El Paso Police Department, Benjamin Duncan, a 35-year-old resident of El Paso, Texas, was arrested and charged with the murder of his parents.

His parents, Richard and Julia Duncan were residents of Montrose.

Duncan called police early on the morning of Feb. 13, 2020, and informed them that he had killed his parents.

Officers arrived at the residence, entering through the open door, and came across Benjamin Duncan, who immediately surrendered himself.

Within the home, they also found his mother, 68-year-old, Julie Duncan, and his father, 67-year-old Richard Duncan.

Both parents were found with stab wounds.

Julie was pronounced dead on scene, while Richard was transported to the University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Benjamin Duncan was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for Capital Murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
