BUFORD, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Fire crews in Rio Blanco County are responding to the Cabin Lake Fire, which broke out Sunday about 5 miles south of Buford.

As of Monday morning, it was at an estimated 200 acres with no containment. Multiple buildings are threatened, including Seven Lakes Lodge, which has been evacuated.

Residents on County Road 17 have been alerted that a pre-evacuation or evacuation may be issued.

The fire is moving south and east into heavy timber, according to officials with the White River National Forest. About 40 people are actively working to put it out.

There was no word on what started the fire. People may see smoke from Meeker and New Castle.
