LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Wildlife officials are investigating after a man was attacked by a wild cat while trail running in the Fort Collins area.
According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the runner was reportedly attacked by a wild cat at Horsetooth Mountain Park on Monday afternoon. The victim survived, and is being treated at a hospital in the area.
CPW says the man was running on a trail in the park when he was attacked from behind by a large cat. Officials say he was bitten in the face and wrist, and suffered facial lacerations, scratches and puncture wounds to his arms legs and back.
He was able to fight off the cat and get to safety. Horsetooth Mountain Park is west of Fort Collins.
