CMU Hockey raises thousands of dollars for St.Mary's Cancer Survivorship Program

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- CMU's hockey team had their annual Pink The Rink Fundraiser...and they were able to donate thousands of dollars to a good cause.

For the past four years, the team has donated money to St. Mary’s Cancer Survivorship Program, and this year alone they raised over $17,000 dollars.

Over the course of four years, they have donated more than $60,000 dollars.

St. Mary’s offers cancer survivors resources that help people deal with the long term effects of cancer, as well as helped to prevent new kinds of cancer from developing.

"I have tons of family members that have been affected by it so it's really nice to make contributions for such a terrible thing and try and make the best of a terrible situation,” says Co-Captain CMU Hockey Cooper Blevins.

They also offer non-medical services like massages, yoga and acupuncture.
