GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)-- CDOT is preparing the rest of the state for weather travel--using chemicals and salt as more snow approaches the higher elevations.
Officials sent 22 snow plows out on Nov. 26 to tackle the highways.
They have already started re-ordering the chemical they put on the road, and making sure patrols have their equipment ready when the storm hits.
With more snow coming as Thanksgiving approaches, people are taking heed to winter driving tips as they hit the roads.
“I have so many people that I have to watch out for. That's the big thing to. Watch out for the other drivers, because you may be driving safe, but their driving too fast. Slow down, we're going to get their safe not faster,” says one Grand Junction Resident.
Officials say they are expecting heavy traffic and congestion when this next storm hits...so plan travel ahead of time.
