Body of Kyle Free found in remote part of Northeastern Mesa County

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The Mesa County Sheriff's Office announced Friday morning they had recovered the remains of a man missing since April.

The agency charged one woman with murder and another person with accessory to murder as part of the investigation that authorities have been extremely tight-lipped about.

The Mesa County Coroner's Office positively identified the remains on December 5 as Kyle Free. The cause of death is gunshot wounds of neck and chest and the manner of death is homicide, according to a news release from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators arrested 28-year-old Timothy Zane Russman in Collbran. However, Russman is from Clifton. Deputies also arrested Rebecca Walker on first-degree murder and abuse of corpse charges, among others.

All records remain sealed by the courts in this case, which is still on-going according to authorities.
