ASPEN, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Another Colorado road is buried in snow after an avalanche, this time in Pitkin County.

Castle Creek Road is closed near the Aspen/Snowmass Village area after an avalanche Saturday morning. The Pitkin County Sheriff's office says the road will be closed until avalanche threat is either mitigated or reduced.

They say there is extreme avalanche danger, power is out and will likely not be restored until Sunday at the soonest in the Conundrum area.

CDOT says to expect delays Sunday along I-70 for avalanche mitigation operations with helicopters. This will be happening along Vail Pass and east of Copper Mountain. Also down in Silver Plume.

The department of transportation says it’s impossible to tell how long the closures will take place. For more info on travel conditions and closures, go to cotrip.org
