Grand Junction Fire responded to a report of an engulfed motorhome near 29 Road and Patterson on Saturday.

The call came in around 6:40 p.m. and was reportedly put out shortly after 7:00 p.m.

The motorhome was a total loss, and firefighters aren't sure of what caused it because of the extensive damage.

That wasn't the only call for GJFD during the day.

The Grand Junction Fire Department was called to the 29 Mile Apartments, at Orchard Avenue and 29 Road, for reports of smoke in the hallway of the building, GJFD said in press release.

It happened around 3 p.m. Saturday. The fire department evacuated about 30 people, no one was hurt.

According to the release, crews found the smoke was from a cooking fire on the first floor.

The only damage was due to doors that were forced open during the search for the source of the smoke and evacuation of the residents.
