GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - The region’s largest Winemaking and Grape Growing Conference was uncorked today.
The four- day event is celebrating its 10th anniversary and began at CSU’s campus in Orchard Mesa. The conference is hosting Colorado winemakers looking to perfect their craft. Industry leaders spoke on pruning, frost protection, fermentation and every topic in between.
“We want to make sure we continue to bolster up those local fruit production systems so we can ensure a very sustainable and profitable industry here on the Western Slope,” says Brendon Anthony, a graduate student at CSU Orchard Mesa.
Organizers say that by bettering the quality of our wine, we can see more tourism dollars and jobs in the industry for the state of Colorado.
