GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - Mesa County Habitat for Humanity gave away their 79th set of house keys this morning.
Single mother Ramona Schultz and her son Trevor are enjoying their first night in their new house tonight. Before, the Schultz's were living in a small apartment where they felt unsafe. Ramona says this new home is an answered prayer… the best part, she says, is that the house is ADA compliant for Trevor who uses a wheelchair.
“There are no modifications that would need to be done now to the bathroom or even in the future. It's a huge relief that the doorways are wide, the hallways are, the countertops are lower…" Ramona Schultz explains.
Habitat for Humanity says this home was the product of over a thousand volunteer hours but today's reveal makes it all worth it.
